Buddies on the Bus' - New Project aimed at men
Co-ordinator Ron Tomlin
Aims to engage with older men who are at risk of becoming isolated, using one of our accessible 14 seater mini - buses to offer (free of transport cost) - day trips and outings.
The intention is to increase social opportunities and allow participants to meet with others in similar circumstances, sharing an enjoyable experience. We hope that new relationships will be formed - 'Buddies on the Bus' and that confidence and feelings of well being will increase also enabling participants to feel more confident in accessing other activities in the future. Users of the service will have the opportunity to help shape how it is delivered and especially in choosing destinations/venues to visit.
We aim to be as inclusive as possible and flexible with our criteria but our priority group is older men in designated areas of Bournemouth. To find out more please contact :
Ron Tomlin - Project Worker on 01202 534027 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
