Volunteer Community Driver

We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to join our community car driver team. In this role, you will provide safe and supportive transport for local residents who may otherwise struggle to get to essential appointments, community activities, or social events. As a volunteer driver, you’ll play a vital part in reducing isolation, promoting independence, and helping people stay connected to their community. Mileage expenses are reimbursed, and your time and kindness will make a real difference in someone’s day.

Task List

  • To transport our members to various locations as scheduled
  • To maintain good customer relationships our members and the general public and act in a courteous, professional manner befitting a representative of the organisation
  • Comply with Sedcat driving regulations such as wearing a name badge
  • Ensure your vehicle is in a presentable manner when transporting our customers
  • Ensure your vehicle MOT and Insurance certificate are always valid and up to date
  • Ensure you have a valid drivers licence with no more than 3 points off your licence at any given time
  • Ensure you comply with fitness regulations on driving licences and report any illness or medication that may affect your ability to drive.

Hours:                 Board meetings are held quarterly

Location:               Remote

sedcat is a charityproviding a range of community transport options to support people living independently in the community, helping to prevent social isolation and loneliness.

We are looking to expand our board membership here at sedcat. Would you like to help support an organisation passionate about helping the community?

We are particularly interested in people who have skills and/experience in the following however not compulsory:

  • Finance and company / charity governance
  • NHS & Healthcare
  • The Care sector
  • Service improvement and user engagement
  • Experience within the voluntary sector

    Location: Meetings will be held quarterly via Teams and annually in June face to face at Castlepoint Shopping Centre.
